Bespoke Cushions
Bespoke cushions are a fantastic way to add a little personal flair into a home. There are lots of filling options to choose from, as well as details like piping:

Hollow Fibre
Hollow Fibre is a synthetic man-made material, is great for indoor and also outdoor use. It is an anti-allergy filling which has a similar to feather, making it a good alternative for those suffering from allergies.
Duck Feather
Duck Feathers are a popular filling consisting of small feathers with a slight natural curl which act like a spring, producing cushions with a medium-firm sink in feel.
Foam
Foam can be very soft or very firm depending on the mix and is used in all sorts of cushions and upholstery. It is used for outdoor cushions, sofa seat cushions and padding on furniture, it tends to retain its shape for a very long time.
Piping options
Cushion seams can be finished with a decorative piping sewn it which can really complete the look and make any cushion feel more luxurious. They can be made in the same fabric as your cushion, or in a contrasting material such as leather, velvet or woven fibres.
Bespoke Headboards
We always recommend to opt for a bespoke headboard whenever possible - this means the bed base can be selected separately, leaving room for choice between a divan style bed, storage bed or bed with legs. Having a well designed headboard can impact a room dramatically.
There are a number of different style shapes you can consider for a headboard. Thicker upholstery fabrics that have less stretch are best for headboards. Contrasting borders in another fabric or adding decorative piping are all ways to personalise the headboard exactly to your tastes.

Bespoke Upholstery
LOOSE COVERS VS FITTED COVERS
Loose covers are tailored to fit your furniture. They can be easily removed for a cleaning or for a change of textile. Loose covers fit well but will not be as tight fitting as fully upholstered furniture, the extra give is added so that removing of the covers is easy.
A heavyweight fabric with a Martindale test of at least 20,000 is suggested for general domestic wear, and higher if the furniture is used a lot.
Dry cleaning is best but should be done at your own risk. Washing machines may shrink the fabric or alter the appearance.
Fitted upholstery is recommended for pieces which do not require removable covers - the look is a bit more 'polished' as the fabric is tightly fitted. With fitted upholstery, we can
Bespoke Lampshades
Although lampshades can be sourced ready-made, sometimes it can make a world of difference to have a shade bespoke-made in our own choice of fabric. Our soft-furnishings partner Angela of Cocoon Home specialises in lampshade-making, and even offers courses. Shades can be made in various shapes and sizes - it's important to consider the fabric-type as some fabrics are more sheer than others, and therefore, let more light through to create a soft glow. Fabrics which are too thick will not let light through the shade, particularly if the shade is pleated.
